I have lived in Nelson since 2018 after falling in love with the city when I visited for a vacation a couple of years earlier. As a retired CPA, I have 20 years of professional experience in accounting roles that I believe I can utilize to give back to my community – in this case, as the Treasurer of the board of the Kootenay Carshare Cooperative. I believe financial information should never stay in the finance department but should be used to ensure the long-term health of an organization. For the Kootenay Carshare Cooperative that translates to benefits for all its members as well as the wider community. In my spare time, I play ukulele, ski with my family, and do my best to become bi-lingual in French.
